We photographers? We tend to be dreamers. We let our hearts drag us around like bears with the leash in their mouths. And though we're connecting, and building, and creating, and dreaming, the truth is: we're not awake. We're not honest with ourselves about the challenges of this path we've chosen. We're too afraid of losing all we’ve built, of failing where others told us we would fail. And we bury our heads beneath our pillows and complain on forums and join meetups and pay for conferences and expos and Field Trips.

But we don’t have to live that way. We dreamers have a place in the real world of taxes and customer service and nine-to-fives. Our imaginations open great doors for connectivity with the incredible, complex human beings all around us. We storytellers are impacting the world for generations to come.

And we don’t even know the half of it.

I believe that by pursuing intentional connection, authentic vulnerability, and genuine concern for our clients, we can become not only better storytellers and business owners, but better people. 

Let's burn old bridges and build new ones. Let’s be smarter, kinder, more thoughtful. Let's connect over shared dreams and hopes and wishes, so that when others meet us, they will see past our websites and our fancy cameras and straight through to our hearts.
