Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

With the resurgence in popularity of old-school technology in photography, cyanotypes can include both traditional film capture and the digital world. In this hands - on workshop, learn how to create cyanotypes using your own images in transparency form via a contact printing process. This class has been crafted for those who want to explore an alternative technique that expands the artists' creative process and results in an archival work of art.

To introduce students to the cyanotype process, with the intended result being a comprehensive materials list and 1 - 2 finished cyanotypes.

Students will:

*be presented with a materials list of needed supplies to create a cyanotype

*have a hands on experience in creating cyanotype chemicals

*preparing a surface for cyanotypes

*create a cyanotype using their own image

*receive basic instruction on how to create a negative from a digital file

Students will submit prior to Inspire:

*2 digital images that will be converted to a large negative

*instructor will convert the digital files to large negatives to be used in the cyanotype process during workshop prior to Inspire (due to the challenges of printing on site)
